Dahi Kadhi with Split Green Moong Dal Pakora




Ingredients:

for the pakoras:

1 cup Split  Green Moong Dal (soaked for 1 hour)
2 green chillies
1 onion roughly chopped
6 -7 pepper corns
1 inch ginger
5 -6 garlic cloves
salt to taste.
1/4 tsp baking soda
oil for frying.

for the Kadhi:

1.5 cup curds/dahi
2 cups water
2 tbsp besan/gram flour
1/2 tsp turmeric powder/haldi
salt to taste.
Coriander leaves to garnish.

for tempering :

1 tbsp oil
1 tsp ghee
1 tsp jeera/cumin seeds
1 tsp mustard seeds/rai
1/2 tsp methi /fenugreek seeds.
1/2 tsp hing/ asafoetida
2 green chillies
1 kashmiri chilli
3-4 garlic cloves crushed.

Method:
Drain all the water from the soaked split green moong dal and grind with all the remaining ingredients .
Mix the baking soda into the ground mixture and keep aside for 15 minutes.
Heat oil in a kadhai and deep fry on medium heat till brown.
Whisk curds with salt ,turmeric till smooth then add water and whisk well .
Heat the vessel add ghee and oil ,once hot add the curry leaves then add kashmiri chilli.
Then add mustard  and cumin seeds once they splutter add  hing, methi ,garlic and chillies Then add the curds mixture bring it to  boil then simmer and cook for 3 -4 minutes lastly add the pakoras.
Garnish with Coriander leaves and serve hot with steamed/jeera rice.
