When you want to bake a cake and don't know whether you should bake a chocolate or vanilla cake you should opt for a Marble Cake. You can enjoy both vanilla and chocolate flavour in every bite of this delcious moist butter cake ..I bake this when its really hard to decide what to bake...this is loved by all at my place its soft buttery and simply yumm..try it out you will love this..
Ingredients
125 gms butter
100 gms flour/maida
100 gms sugar (powdered)
2 eggs
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp vanilla
2 tbsp milk
2 tbsp cocoa powder
Method:
- Preheat the oven to 180 degree for 10 min
- Prepare the cake tin by greasing it and line it with parchment paper/butter paper.
- Mix the flour with baking powder and salt (only if using unsalted butter) .
- In a bowl cream butter and sugar till fluffy.
- Add eggs and beat till well incorporated.
- Mix in vanilla esscence and milk.
- Fold in flour till well mixed.
- Divide the batter into 2 parts to one add cocoa powder .
- Transfer the plain batter into the greased baking pan.
- Tap it lightly to distribute evenly.
- Pour the cocoa batter in the middle of baking pan, and lightly swirl the cocoa batter with a butter knife. I use a wooden skewer and usually do the “S” shape with the skewer a couple of times. Do not overmix.
- Bake until toothpick inserted comes out clean ,it took me about 40 minutes.
- Remove it from the oven and let cool on the wire rack .
- Unmould from the pan and enjoy this delicious cake with cup of coffee/just enjoy it with your fav drink.

Hi Gloria, nice and moist marble cake. This cake great to go with coffee. Me too love marble or zebra cake.
Glad to read that you had a good time at your cousin'a wedding. Have a nice weekend, regards.

Hi what should I do to make a normal marble cake...that is soft and fluffy...Coz this is butter marble cake rite...and how many inches pan for this recipe
What is the pan size...please
6 inch pan ..that's a different recipe..this recipe is for a marble butter cake..
6 inch
Can you please tell me eggless version...want to try this one...with same texture soft and fluffy...
I can't guarantee on the texture in Eggless version..try using 1/1 cup curds and 1/4 baking soda for 2 eggs..mix the baking soda in curds and keep aaide for 10 minutes the use in place of eggs mentioned.
Hi can you please help me I have bought a tin of 6 inches that is 15.2 cm into 4.5 cm, so will this tin be correct for this recipe, please help as you have mentioned 6 inches but the depth of your cake is looking more
ok i read 4.5 inch...i suppose you have bought a sandwich cake tin which is 6 inch across and 1 1/2 inch deep...my pan is 6 inch across and 3 "deep
Hi my pan is 6 inches and height is not even 2 inches...coz 4.5 cms,so you're sure that I can bake in my pan...it won't spill or crack.please reply
you will have to divide the batter and bake in two batches if using this same pan else it will spill
no the size is small...you have brought a sandwich cake tin...
Hi I checked 6 inches round and 3 inches depth is not available...only 6 inches round and 2 or 2.5 inches depth is available...can I use that help...2 inches depth or 2.5 inches depth
Or which will be the next correct size for this cake...as I want it to rise till the brim....I mean the cake height...please help
7 inches diameter round with 2.5 inches depth or 6 inches diameter with 2.5 inches depth
6 inches round with 2.5 depth fine please help
Yes it's fine you will get a tall cake like you want
Both will do 6 inch 2 .5 inch will give a taller cake compared to the 7 inch one .. seven inch will also do only thing the cake will not look tall ..
Thanks so much
Hi I know am troubling you but please reply as I tried almost every where I couldn't get 6 inches 2.5 or 3 inches depth, everywhere it is only 6 inches and 2 inches depth..so will this one work 6 inches and 2 inches for this cake as am going again to few places in evening
Shopkeepers are saying you don't get so much depth...2 inches is the best you can get😖
You bake it in that and keep some cupcake moulds ready . Fill the cake tin till 3/4 renaming batter you can bake as cup cakes
wow..love to have a bite,fabulous ones..perfect with a cup of tea :)
