Beef Pulao is delicious one pot meal ..Green Masala beef pulao/pilaf is flavoursome delicious one pot meal which pairs well with some salad/raita. Green Masala adds lovely flavour to this beef pulao.

I prefer using pressure cooker to make beef pulao ,it's quick and hassle free ,you may choose to use an open pot the cooking time will vary. You can use kolam or any short grain variety of rice too.

ingredients
1/2 kg beef with bones
1 inch ginger crushed
5 to 6 garlic crushed 
1 inch cinnamon stick 
3 to 4 cloves 
1/4 tsp turmeric powder
1 tsp lime juice
salt 

1 and 1/2 cup basmati rice
2 small or 1 onion sliced
1 potato cut into quarters
1 tomato chopped 

masala to be ground 
1 cup coriander leaves
half cup mint leaves
6 to 7  spicy dark green chillies
1 tsp cumin seeds
8 to 10 pepper
1 inch ginger
6 to 7 garlic cloves
1 tsp garam masala powder
2 bay leaves
1/2 tsp turmeric powder

Method
  • Wash the beef pieces well ,drain excess water ,apply salt 1 tsp lime and turmeric powder and set aside for 30 minutes .
  • Pressure cook the marinated beef with 4 to 5 glasses water, crushed ginger, garlic ,cloves cinnamon for 15 to 20 minutes after it releases pressure/20 minutes  after 1st whistle  total cooking time will be 25 to 30 minutes depending on the quality and cut of the meat used.
  • Soak the washed basmati rice for 30 to 45  minutes .
  • Reserve the stock for the pulao ,discard the ginger and garlic .
  • Grind the ingredients mentioned under masala to be ground to a smooth fine paste adding little water .
  • Heat the pressure cooker add 2 tbsp oil, once hot add bay leaves followed by sliced onions saute until light brown.
  • Add the chopped tomatoes and fry until soft .
  • Add the ground paste and saute well for 10 minutes on medium flame.
  • Add the potatoes and cooked beef and  mix 
  • Add the drained rice fry well .
  • Now add 3 cups beef stock  ,add salt if needed .
  • Cover the pressure cooker lid and let it cook , it will take 2 whistles. 
  • Release the pressure once cooked fluff the rice with fork .
  • Serve hot with raita/salad.
