How can one say no to this wonderful power packed dish..
Ingredients:
1 medium bunch palak/spinach
150 gms paneer
2 medium sized onions
1 small tomato pureed
3 -4 garlic cloves
2 green chillies
1 tsp cumin seeds
1 tsp kasuri methi/dried fenugreek leaves
1/2 tsp garam masala powder
1 tsp ghee(optional)
1 tbsp oil.
2tsp cream
salt to taste.
Method:
Blanch the Palak drain all the water and grind to paste.
Grind onion and green chilli to a paste.
Heat vessel add ghee and oil then put the cumin seeds.
Add the onion paste fry well till the raw smell goes off.
Then add the tomato paste and fry well for 5 minutes.
Add the palak paste fry well for about 10 minutes.
Then add the garam masala powder ,salt and mix well.
Now add the kasuri methi crushing it with your palms.
Mix well add little water.
Add the cream mix well then add cubed paneer mix well cook for 2 minutes.
Serve hot with Chapatti,Naan or Rice.
Notes:
If using frozen paneer remove it out well in advance till it comes to room temperature.
Try using fresh paneer for the soft texture.
If you wish to add fried paneer fry it and keep aside and then use .I prefer to use soft non fried paneer.
You can increase the amount of green chillies if you want it more spicier.
Palak Paneer taste good when its mildly spiced .
Blanching( adding palak in boiling water then running it under cool water) the palak helps in retaining the green colour.
