Ingredients:
- 2 cup basmati rice
- 2 onions finely sliced
- 2 to 3 bay leaves
- 1/2 tsp shahi jeera
- 4 cloves , 1 Cinnamon stick,1 -2 star anise,2 black cardamom 6 to 7 green cardamom
- 1/2 cup almonds
- 1/2 cup cashews
- 3 tbsp raisins
- 1 -2 tbsp ghee
- salt to taste
- 4 cups hot water
- Finely slice the onion and fry till golden brown and crisp and keep aside.
- Fry all the nuts and keep aside.
- Wash and soak the rice for atleast 30 min.
- Heat Ghee in a Vessel , You can also make it with oil or use ghee and oil .
- Once ghee is hot add bay leaves,and all whole spices and fry well then add the rice and the half of the nuts and fry for about 5 min add salt and hot water bring it to a boil.
- Lower heat and simmer till rice is fluffy.
- Garnish with fried onions and remaining nuts .
- Serve hot with any gravy of your choice.
